Kate Carr - Vertical London (New Year’s Day)
Field recordist Kate Carr undertook a journey through London that took her from the lowest point in the city—20 metres below sea level—to the highest, at 240 metres above sea level. Along the way, which she walked on New Year’s Day, she recorded the sounds of her surroundings. London is never quiet; there is always some sound to be heard somewhere. Descriptions of those sounds became the titles. Carr invites you on a sonic journey that was once a real one—and to lose yourself with her among these endless sounds and sonic textures.
